Row A

I am very proud of our Woodstock Town Board. Not only have they rebuilt the Town Hall, created a new water park, kept our taxes low and our value high all while defining political cooperation; they also were able to keep their heads up with a very positive campaign. We need people like Bill McKenna, Cathy Magarelli and Jeremy Wilber working for us. However, it’s up to us to vote them back into office. Join me on Tuesday, November 5 and Vote row A!

McDonough For Comptroller

We met Linda A. McDonough, candidate for county comptroller a few weeks ago, when she was out on the campaign trail. We liked her immediately and we are pleased to add our voice of support for her candidacy.

One of the reasons we will vote for Linda is that she brings to the office of Comptroller a vast amount of auditing experience, both in the private and public sector. While Deputy County auditor, Linda was responsible for assuring that proper documentation accompanied all requests for payment thus avoiding duplicate or erroneous payments. We especially appreciate that Linda shares her time, talents and energy with various non-profits, most recently as business manager for John A Coleman High School.

Linda has the knowledge, qualifications and experience needed to perform the duties required of the Ulster County Comptroller.

If you are ready, as we are, for a change in county leadership, Linda Mc Donough is the woman to tackle the job of County Comptroller.

Each Vote Is Cherished

As the election draws close, my efforts continue door-to-door and with mailings, advertisements and lawn signs. Each vote is cherished — just ask Senator Tkaczyk (18 vote winner). People who run for office invest a great deal of time, money and sweat. Those running for local office should be valued as much as state and federal candidates. Local officials touch all of our lives and hopefully will preserve the community we love and call home. Please do not stay away from the voting booths on November 5. Thanks to all of you who vote, especially those of you who vote for me for Saugerties Town Justice.

Marching In Lock Step

I respect all of the seated members of the Town Board and I appreciate their service to the Town of Woodstock. I am however troubled with two interlocking issues that remain unresolved — the Ethics Board charges against two of the seating members of the Town Board, along with the treatment of our Zoning Board and Ethics Board volunteers as they followed their responsibility to enforce made law.

The failure to reappoint Howard Harris to the Zoning Board, the subsequent resignation of all of the volunteer members of the ZBA, and the criticisms and demeaning attitude towards the members of the Ethics Board by the Town Board are all indicative signs of a Town Board that has lost touch with the spirit and purpose of the volunteers of the Boards & Committees. It appears unless they march in lock step with the wills and wishes of the Town Board, they are persona non grata.

I am supporting Loris Rose for Town Supervisor and Howard Harris to serve on the Town Board.

Lorin Rose is a hardworking, common sense, intelligent man who has never turned away from helping his neighbors. Lorin has a strong record of volunteerism and has an understanding and an insight into what good town government should be. Lorin Rose is a perfect choice to lead, direct and build consensus within our Town Board so that the job of managing our town effectively with a sense of purpose and direction will get done.

Howard Harris served as a diligent member of the Woodstock Zoning Board of Appeals both as a member and a Chairman for many years. Howard became the best student of the Woodstock Zoning Law and worked hard to see that the Zoning Law was followed and applied fairly as to the will of the people. His removal from the Zoning Board by the Town Board was without any stated cause or reason and it was an unfair action on their part. Howard’s knowledge, good attitude, and concern for the Town of Woodstock leads me to know that his addition to the Town Board would bring a fresh, new, and insightful input into our governance.

Please join with me on November 5 and cast your ballot for Lorin and Howard.

Our Hearts Are In This Town

At every Town Board Meeting, you have the opportunity to speak to us, in the beginning and at various times throughout the meeting. We always give you our attention and consideration. If you need more time, Jeremy, Bill and I have always taken the time to understand your concerns and to help you whenever we can. Now there is another opportunity to talk to us by voting on November 5. It is your turn to help us.

I have lived in this town for almost 40 years, and like all of us, I have longed to see our facilities improve. Over the past few years, I am proud to have helped make our town a little better along with Bill and Jeremy. We are a good team that has worked hard for you. Our hearts are in this town. We need your help to continue.

Low taxes, town improvements, and now the renovation of the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center. I promise to get this project done.

Our community has already benefited from Jeremy’s expertise with getting things done and Bill’s expertise in every phase of construction.

With my interest in collaboration, I continue to get input from the groups who use the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center. This renovation and addition will give us a beautiful multi-use facility at a price that we all can afford.

When you see your tax bill, you will again see that Jeremy, Bill and I are part of an effective team. A team that is helping Woodstock be a place we all can afford to live in and be proud of. We have been trying to improve your town. Now it is your turn to make a difference. Please vote on November 5 for Jeremy, Bill and Cathy.

Also, don’t forget Elliot Auerbach, the Democrat who has been doing a great job as Ulster County Comptroller. Thank you.
