Saugerties Times Election Guide
This year, Saugerties voters will pick a supervisor, two Town Board members, a highway superintendent, a town justice and three county legislators.
One of the legislators, Dean Fabiano is unpposed, as are Town Clerk Lisa Stanley and Receiver of Taxes Suzi Filak.
Outside of Saugerties, there’s a county comptroller race and state supreme court race, as well as several ballot propositions (most notably, one that would amend the state constitution to allow for up to seven full-scale casinos.

Town Supervisor
Kelly Myers is the current town supervisor. She was elected in 2011. Greg Helmoortel was the supervisor for six terms before that. Gaetana Ciarlante is the challenger.

Town Board
The Town Board candidates: Bruce Leighton, James Bruno, Bill Schirmer and Marjorie Block
Four candidates are running for two seats on the town board. The terms are four years.

Ray Mayone is challenging first-term Highway Superintendent Doug Myer for this two-year post.

Town Justice
Dan Lamb hopes to hold on to his seat against a challenge by Lanny Walter. The town has two town justices. Four-year term.
County Legislature- District I
Mary Wawro is facing a challenge from Beth Murphy in District I, which includes rural West Saugerties; pretty much everything west of the Thruway and north of the village. (See which district you’re in.)
County Legislature- District II
Long-time legislator Bob Aiello is facing a challenge from Chris Allen in District II, the village and Barclay Heights and surrounding areas. (See which district you’re in.)
County Legislature- District III
Legislator Dean Fabiano is going unchallenged in District III, Glasco and part of town of Ulster. (See which district you’re in.)
County Comptroller
Comptroller Elliott Auerbach faces a challenge from Linda McDonough.
