SL: Crazy! As most women already know, it’s extremely difficult juggling family with work. There were too many times when I had to put work before my family. If I had it to do over, I would have stayed home with my kids. Next life.
CJR: What did you guys do for family time when the kids were younger? What do you do now?
SL: Spent time playing games like Trivial Pursuit, my personal favorite is Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit. Also playing in the yard, putting together puzzles, watching movies, going to family gatherings. Oh, and when your mom is a band director, there’s that little thing called “practice.” Sometimes we played music together and still do.
My kids are 21 to 31 now. We do our own thing most of the time. Music is still a really cohesive factor. This past winter, we were able to do Christmas caroling together with instruments. What a blast!
CJR: Hobbies?
SL: Computer, reading, traveling, and research.
CJR: What do you do when you’re super-stressed?
SL: Meditate, play the piano, watch Lord of the Rings movies and make candles.
CJR: Where’s your favorite spot in the Town of Ulster?
SL: My house.
