Already broke, Rosita’s now getting sued by city

Mayor Shayne Gallo said that he was upset over restaurant owners’ failure to pay back anything on taxpayer funded loans. But he denied that the debt had anything to do with his effort to close down the establishment. Instead, Gallo said, the move, which he described as long overdue, was part of a larger effort to bring downtown nightspots into compliance with neighborhood zoning ordinances.

“Can’t enforce the code against one place and let another one get away with a clear violation,” said Gallo. “You can’t selectively enforce a section of the city code.”
