Update on injured City of Kingston firefighters

kt logoKingston Fire Department Chief John Reinhardt has issued the following update on two city firefighters injured after they jumped from the second floor of a building on fire on Franklin Street Saturday, Dec. 29.

 

This is an update on the two Firefighter that were injured fighting the 4 alarm fire at 78 Franklin Street on Saturday evening, December 29th.

 

Firefighter Thomas Metzger – 13 years on KFD – Sustained a fractured left wrist & a fractured left elbow – admitted overnight to hospital – underwent procedures today for both injuries & has been released & is now at home – will require extensive treatment & therapy  & will be out of work for an extended period of time.

Firefighter Brian Renn – 9 1/2 years on KFD – Sustained a collapsed lung – was transferred from Kingston Hospital to Albany Medical Center last night – was treated for the injury & is being released to go home this afternoon – will require some time off & will be out of work for an unknown period of time.
