Befriend the animals
The Catskill Animal Sanctuary is open for tours on Saturdays and Sundays through the fall. Tours begin every half hour 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost is $10, $5 for seniors and kids under age 12, or free for CAS members. Most of the animals are roaming free, so it’s an interactive experience. The sanctuary will host a special Farm Animal Amble on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. The Catskill Animal Sanctuary is located at 316 Old Stage Rd in Saugerties. Celebrate history and community

The Saugerties Farmers Market, as in past years, will hold their indoor market at the Saugerties Senior Center, 207 Market Street, from noon till 4:00 on Sundays. There will be one market per month over five fall and winter months.
The first two indoor markets, November 18 and December 16, are timed to help you get ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas, respectively. The three remaining markets – January 13, February 10, and March 10 – will be held on the second Sunday of each month also scheduled to mark the holidays of Martin Luther King Day, Valentine’s Day, and St. Patrick’s Day. “First Friday” is the recently instituted community event in the village of Saugerties on the first Friday of each month, when art galleries, retail shops and restaurants stay open late and offer special sales and events.
