Dunham was taken to KPD headquarters for processing. On Wednesday, July 18, he was arraigned in Kingston City Court on felony charges of second-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail on $150,000 bail. According to Robertson, the investigation is ongoing. Among the loose ends, cops are still looking for the shotgun and while they believe Dunham was the sole gunman, they’re looking into whether he had accomplices. Robertson said police are also investigating potential gang links in the crime.
This is not Dunham’s first run-in with the law and guns. Back on May 2, Dunham and another man were arrested on Broadway after a traffic stop turned up cocaine and a 12-gauge shotgun in the car. According to District Attorney Holley Carnright, Dunham was charged with felony drug possession but was later released pending trial. He was not charged with weapons possession. Carnright also noted that the shotgun found in the car was seized by police and was not the weapon used in the O’Neil Street shooting. In October 2010, Dunham was arrested on weapons charges after police say he was caught with a loaded .38-caliber revolver while walking on Broadway. Carnright said that he did not know the disposition of those charges.
