Sunday, July 15, 1:30 p.m., the 23rd annual Crazy Quacker Duck Race will be held at the Main Street Bridge. Not exactly an arts event, but this annual fundraiser for the Rotary Club is visually arresting. A horde of bright yellow, numbered rubber duckies careen down the rapids to be netted by volunteers. The first five ducks to arrive at the bridge win prizes of $1000, $500, $250, $100, and another $100 for their sponsors. Tickets are $10 each; 3 for $25; and 7 for $50 and may be purchased from Rotary members or local businesses.
At the same time, the Phoenicia Rotary Regatta will feature boats designed, crafted, and raced by local pre-teens. The Main Street Bridge is located opposite the Phoenicia Pharmacy.
Friday, July 20, 7 p.m., and Saturday, July 21, 8 p.m., Mount Tremper Arts presents two concerts by the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), “dedicated to reshaping the way music is created and experienced.” For tickets, go to https://mounttremperarts.org. Saturday and Sunday, July 21-22, 11 a.m.– 5 p.m., the Shandaken Art Studio Tour will offer the public admission to the studios of 46 local artists, as well as several sculpture gardens. Tour maps are available at www.ShandakenArt.com and at many area shops. This event is free.
