Getting there

 

The Great Vly Take Route 9W north to West Camp Road, DEC parking lot is before Thruway bridge.

Chodikee Lake Take Route 299 from New Paltz or Highland to North Chodikee Lake Road, go left at fork, park in DEC parking lot.

Rondout Creek Accessible via marina on The Strand inKingston. Take 587 from traffic circle near Thruway, follow signs to Broadway, turn left after 1.5 miles to stay on Broadway, make a right on West Strand Road.

Esopus in Saugerties From south:Take Route 9W into the village, just over the bridge road becomes Partition Street,Village Beach parking area on the left. From Thruway or west: Take Route 212/Ulster Avenue into village, bear right on Market Street. Turn left on Main Street, and right on Partition Street. Follow to Village Beach parking area.

Wallkill River Wallkill boat launch off 208 in town of Wallkill, in Gardiner boat launch on Farmer’s Turnpike (adjacent to the 44/55 bridge), in New Paltz at Plains Road boat launch (take Water Street off Route 299 by bridge, veer right onto Plains Road.

Tivoli Bay West off Route 9G to Route 78 (Broadway) through the town of Tivoli and across the tracks to the launch.

Foundry Cover/Constitution Island Marsh Take Route 9 south, make a left on 301 to Cold Spring, follow signs to park.

Wappinger Creek (Route mentioned in article) (fromPoughkeepsie) Take Rote 44 east for 7 miles, right on County Road 47, CadyPark is on right. Terminus is Greenvale Park, from Poughkeepsie, take Routes 44/55 east to South Grand Avenue, left on Hooker Avenue (becomes Route 376), left on Greenvale Farms Road, turn right to park.
