Hudson-Athens Lighthouse: Tours of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse will be held on the second Saturdays of the month from July-October, and complementing City of Hudson and Village of Athens festivals and celebrations. Tours depart Henry Hudson Riverfront Park on the hour beginning at 11 a.m.; depart Village of Athens Waterfront Park on the half-hour beginning at 11:30 a.m. Lighthouse interior tours may be guided or self-guided. Esopus Meadows Lighthouse: Tours of the Esopus Meadows Lighthouse will be held June 18; July 2, 16 & 30; Aug. 13 & 17; Sept. 10 & 24; and Oct. 8. Adults $25; $20 with paid membership; $15 for 12-15-year-olds. No children under 12, high heels, open-toe shoes, backpacks or large purses permitted. Dedicated boat, the 42-foot Estuary Steward, leaves the Hudson River Maritime Museum at Rondout Landing in Kingston promptly at 1 p.m. For reservations or information call 848-3669, or visit www.esopusmeadowslighthouse.org.

 

Rondout II Lighthouse: Tours of the Rondout II Lighthouse, located within the Kingston Urban Cultural Park Heritage Area, are scheduled during the summer months by the Hudson River Maritime Museum. 2011 trips depart May 21-July 3, Sat.-Sun.; July 4; July 7-Sept. 4, Thurs.-Sun.; Sept. 5 ; Sept 10-Oct. 10, Sat.-Sun., all at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, cash only. Saugerties Lighthouse: Interior tours are available Sunday afternoons, Memorial Day weekend-Labor Day weekend, 12-3 p.m. Suggested donation is $5 adults; $2 children. Tours may also be available by appointment; call lighthouse keeper Patrick Landewe to inquire, 247-0656. Tours are approximately 20 minutes with the option of watching a 20-minute lighthouse reconstruction documentary. To reserve a room at the bed-and-breakfast, consult the availability chart at www.saugertieslighthouse.com and reserve by phone. Room rates are $225 per room per night for two people with breakfast (ask for Landewe’s famous blueberry pancakes); $40 for each additional guest. Two-room or two-night minimum on weekends (Friday and Saturday nights). SLC members receive a ten percent discount.
