Wilber has been at the mic for 10 years as well, and cites pure enjoyment as his staying power. Wilber hosts “Super Wednesdays” — so named for the scheduled hosts who were originally town supervisors. Despite not being a Kingstonian, Wilber said the show entertains a “dynamic and diverse community” of traditional and progressive thinkers, and tackles numerous county issues as well. Among Wilber’s regularly scheduled constellation of guests is Dutchess County Executive Mark Molinaro, New York State Police Capt. Pat Regan, Kingston Police Chief Egidio Tinti, Ulster County Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum or his Undersheriff Frank Faluotico and Assemblyman Kevin Cahill.
Regular volunteering co-hosts range from Mayor Shayne Gallo, Ulster County Executive Mike Hein, Ulster County Chamber President Ward Todd, former mayoral candidate Andi Turco-Levin, state Sen. Bill Larkin,Kingstonhistorian Ed Ford and more. Holiday-time, Maxwell invites Father Bernie Redman from St. Joseph’s Church and Temple Emanuel’s Rabbi Cohen, endearingly referred to as the “God Squad.”
Longtime devout listeners, the Crispell family, attended the brunch to support the station. John R. Crispell (not to be confused with accused rapist John Crispell) said his work environment is loud enough to warrant his two radios tuned to KCR. “I like the fact that people can call in and express their different opinions,” he said, who added that he listens for the conservative angle. “I definitely hear more conservative people on that show, which I like. Progressives are just more opinionated. I wish the conservative hosts would voice their convictions a little more loudly.” Hilary Crispell agreed. “We stand on truth as a country. Not opinions. It’s how we started and that’s our foundation. [KCR] brings back our roots. I enjoy listening to truth,” who added that she feels “truth” is reflected in the programming of the station. “The hosts are intelligent and do their homework. They listen to the opinions of others.” Hilary’s husband Ray Crispell agreed. “[KCR] educates listeners. And they become educated themselves if they are wrong. They are not afraid to admit it when they are wrong. They are real.”

Fabulous and thanks for the reminder. While they are AM, they also archive and stream… and that’s a total kick! Makes it super useful!
