The changes include slick TV ads produced at Kingston’s own 721 Media Center, use of Google Analytics for better targeted marketing efforts and an overall push to bring more professional marketing techniques to what had been, Hein said, a largely ad hoc effort based on distributing pamphlets at tourist industry trade shows. Gallo compared the agreement with the county to Kingston “doing business with a Madison Avenue ad agency that the city could not afford.”
