The Gallo Restoration: Shayne is city’s next mayor

One day after the election, Gallo said he plans to start moving towards that goal by, in effect, returning to the campaign trail with his transition team to quiz various constituencies — from clergy to small business owners — about what they want changed in how the city operates. The goal, Gallo said, is to begin his term with a clear set of marching orders for his department heads, based on citizen input.

“[The margin of victory] gives me a mandate for change and they’ve made it explicit that the next mayor is going to have to be accountable,” said Gallo. “I’m going in there in January with a plan and a dialogue that has already been established throughout the city to ensure that it will work.”
