Swedish massages and bluegrass
At Saturday’s fundraiser, a live auction will be run by local auctioneer George Cole, who will take bids on such items as home rentals in Mexico, Cape May and Cape Cod; tickets to The Nutcracker in New York City with an overnight stay at The Fairfield; a load of topsoil for lawn or garden; a free performance by the Saturday Night Bluegrass Band at your home or other venue, just for you and your friends. Plus dinners at Hudson Valley restaurants, themed baskets of goods and goodies, and more. Starting bids for silent auction items range from $10 to several hundred dollars. Included are original artworks, handmade items, Swedish massages, a visit to Howe Caverns, and more. Aside from the fun, says Laurie Rich, director of the foundation, “It’s a wonderful chance for the community to spend time together, and for people to come and learn about the programs and families.” She notes that an RSVP is required to attend, with the registration deadline at the close of business on Thursday, October 20.++
