Primary night ended with Turco-Levin ahead of Polacco 228 to 207; Republican/Conservative candidate Richard Cahill Jr., ran a distant third with 96 votes. By the time the absentee vote count ended — a total of 110 absentee ballots had arrived on time to be counted — Polacco had emerged on top, besting Turco-Levin 268-258. (Cahill, meanwhile, boosted his vote count to 119).
If Gallo secures the Democratic and Independence Party lines pending the outcome of Monday’s court hearing, he will go into the general election with three ballot lines (he already holds the Working Families line) against an opposition split between Polacco and Cahill. Alternatively, if Clement walks out of court with the Democratic line, voters could see a four way race between him, Gallo, Polacco and Cahill.
