“The Conservative Party worked very hard for me and supported me from day one,” said Cahill. “To walk away now would be to say to them, in effect, to heck with you, and I won’t do that.”
Turco-Levin, who handily beat out the former Ward 6 Alderman and 2007 mayoral candidate for the party endorsement at its June convention, said Cahill was being shortsighted in his determination to stay in the race despite a poor showing in the primary.
“He’s not really looking at the big picture,” said Turco-Levin. “He’s not looking at what’s best for the city and for the Republican Party that he’s been a member of for such a long time.”
Cahill appealed for GOP votes by presenting himself as the only candidate who could unite the Conservative Party with Republicans to prevail in November. He said Turco-Levin’s performance in the primary, taking just 40 percent of all Republican votes cast showed, that she had lukewarm support among the party rank and file, especially more conservative voters. Cahill said that her victory was largely the result of himself and Polacco competing for the same base — right-leaning Republicans and voters in Ward 6.
“The fact is if Ron hadn’t been in the race I would have won, and if I hadn’t been in the race Ron would have won outright.”

I think that if Andi Turco-Levin is not our next Mayor, Kingston will finally slither into the corrupt cess-pool it has been digging for years.
