The auteur

What is your idea of happiness?

Taking walks with my soon-to-be wife. Planning on and going on a nice vacation with her.

What is your idea of misery?

Misery is not being able to do anything about the misguided policies America is going through. Being so ineffective about influencing change.

What talent do you wish you had been given?

To be a better musician. I don’t call myself a musician, I call myself a guitar player, a singer-songwriter, never a musician. That takes more talent and work than I have.

What is your main fault?

Occasional short temper.

For which fault do you have the most tolerance?

Short-sightedness, but with willingness to learn.

What is your favorite motto?

“There is more to democracy than two wolves and a sheep discussing what to have for dinner.” Not my favorite, but a cute motto. Call it my favorite of the month.

Do you have any heroes?

Mother Teresa, John F. Kennedy.

What character in history do you most dislike?

There are many. It’s hard to pick one – Hitler, Genghis Khan, Mussolini and more.

What is your present state of mind?

I’ve very happy with my general state; satisfied with who I have become. I have a theory called the near-life experience.  I have lived a good and full life. If I were to die now, I could die with a feeling of fulfillment and completion. I came to that idea while driving up Blue Mountain Road – looking at the mountains on a spring morning, a sense of peace came over me and I came to this idea of the near-life experience.

If heaven exists, what would you like to hear Saint Peter say when he greets you?
