These are figments of a world that isn’t as real as it looks at first glance. The series came about as he searched in recent years for connections between his early, quickly taken photographs of oddities and ironic juxtapositions and the slower, contemplative landscape work that followed.

Judith Frey is a designer of textiles, jewelry, accessories, and furniture. She studied goldsmithing, classical jewelry techniques, cloisenné enameling. She did production and model making of museum reproductions for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Museum of Nigeria. She has been a designer of accessories for many New York based fashion design companies.
